The Courtyard was founded by a Birmingham brother-and-sister team with a shared love of good coffee, comforting food, and warm, welcoming spaces.

After opening Morridge — our small city-centre café known for oats and coffee — we had the opportunity to bring that same spirit to a new home in Harborne, opening our doors in December 2024.

Today, The Courtyard is a relaxed neighbourhood space at the heart of the community. By day, we serve seasonal porridge and wholesome brunch dishes — perfect for slow mornings, easy catch-ups, or settling in with a coffee and your laptop. As evening arrives, the space shifts into a chilled tap-room atmosphere, pouring drinks from local independent breweries and natural wines, alongside our golden toasties.
